Domestic and Sexual Violence Training for Healthcare Professionals

The BNI is happy to announce the live webinar course titled: Domestic Sexual Violence Training for Healthcare Professionals is an approved course by the Department of Public Health in Massachusetts to meet the requirements for Chapter 260.
Domestic violence and sexual assault (DV/SA) is a public health problem that affects individuals from all socioeconomic, cultural, and geographical backgrounds and has a negative impact on the well-being of individuals, families, communities, and society. Healthcare professionals are in a key position to identify, treat, prevent, and provide linkage to resources, however, they require the necessary skills, training, and education. Lack of education and training has been identified as a problem in Massachusetts and to facilitate an improvement a law has been passed mandating health professionals, including nurses, to participate in domestic violence and sexual assault training and education every three years starting in 2018. Having the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Training and Education for the Healthcare Professional meets the needs of the Massachusetts mandate for nurses across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Disciplines required to complete an approved course include all professionals receiving licensure from the:
