Meredith Scannell


Meredith Scannell has over 20 years of nursing working globally in areas of critical care and women’s health. She holds an advanced nursing degree as a certified nurse-midwife and sexual assault nurse examiner. Dr. Scannell earned her PhD at Northeastern University and research interest includes violence against women, and emergency nursing. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health and became a Certified Nurse Midwife in 2006, earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2008 and a PhD from Northeastern University. As a forensic nurse, she has developed numerous courses on the topic of sexual assault and has testified numerous times. She has published numerous articles in peer-review journals, as well as book publications. She has had numerous invited presentations in various nursing organizations locally, nationally and internationally. Kristine Ruggiero


Kristine Ruggiero has extensive clinical experience in the care of children as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in various inpatient and outpatient acute care and primary care settings. Dr. Ruggiero holds an advanced nursing degree from Yale University (2004), and then received her Doctorate in Nursing with a focus on health policy and pediatric care coordination (2014). Kristine is actively involved in research, and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals, books and presents her research nationally and internationally.  She is a Nurse Scientist at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Department of Medicine, and is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at MGH Institute of Health Professions where she teaches in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program.
